The Legend
The Full Story
In the shadows of Placerville’s gold-stained past lies a forgotten order...Long before the town was called Hangtown, it was home to more than miners and outlaws. Beneath its hills—and the dust of the Gold Rush era—there thrived a secret society known only as Mysteria. Founded in 1851 by a prospector-turned-truth-seeker named Gideon Vale, Mysteria sought not gold, but hidden truths buried within the earth—and within the human mind. Its members were scholars, tinkerers, illusionists, and escape artists, united by a single creed: “Nothing is locked forever. All mysteries beg to be solved.” Meeting in a labyrinth of chambers beneath Old Main Street, the society tested each other with intricate traps, riddles, and psychological trials. Rumors swirled through town. Townsfolk whispered of strange symbols carved into cellar doors, lantern light flickering beneath the cobblestones, and a vault sealed by a riddle no one alive could solve. Most dismissed it as folklore... until nearly two centuries later, when sealed journals and artifacts were unearthed during a renovation near the Bell Tower. These relics rekindled the legend—leading modern historians and puzzle-masters to restore the hidden chambers and reopen the gates of Mysteria. Now, Mysteria Escape Room invites only the most curious minds and clever hands to take on its legendary trials. Each room is a rite of passage, drawn from the original tests of the Order itself. Only those who truly think like a member of Mysteria will make it out in time. Are you up for the challenge? Do you dare try?
