Reservations, Cancellations & Refunds

• All purchases are non-refundable unless Cancellation Protection is added at the time of booking.

• Cancellation Protection applies to all participants in the reservation and allows for a full refund if the booking is canceled at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time.

• Rescheduling is permitted with more than 24 hours’ notice, subject to availability.

• Reservations canceled or modified with less than 24 hours’ notice are not eligible for refunds or rescheduling.

 

Waivers

• All participants must complete a waiver prior to participating in an escape room experience.

• Waivers will be completed on site before the game begins.

• Participants under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent, legal guardian, or supervising adult.

 

Arrival Time

• Guests are encouraged to arrive 10–15 minutes early to allow time for check-in and waiver completion.

• Late arrivals may result in reduced game time and are not eligible for refunds or rescheduling.

 

Health & Physical Participation Disclaimer

• Escape room experiences may involve moderate physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and interacting with props in dim or enclosed environments.

• Escape room experiences often include low lighting, flashing lights, small spaces, mist, black lights, and loud noises.  These are often worked with in a puzzle/experience and cannot be changed.  If you are sensitive to any of this, tell the Game Master and accommodation will be discussed.

• Participants should not participate if they have medical, physical, or psychological conditions that could be aggravated by such activities, including but not limited to claustrophobia, anxiety disorders, heart conditions, or mobility limitations.

• By participating, guests voluntarily assume responsibility for determining their own physical and mental readiness to play.

 

Safety & Conduct

For the safety and enjoyment of all guests, participants agree to:

• Follow all instructions provided by Mysteria Escape Room staff

• Treat all rooms, props, furnishings, and puzzles with care

• Refrain from unsafe behavior, including climbing, forceful actions, tampering with fixtures, or misuse of props

• No outside food or drinks are permitted in game areas, except resealable bottles with water.

 

Mysteria Escape Room reserves the right to discontinue a session or remove participants for unsafe behavior or failure to follow staff instructions. No refunds will be issued in these cases.

 

Photography, Recording & Intellectual Property

• The use of cameras, recording devices, or audio/video recording equipment inside escape rooms is not permitted, unless explicitly authorized by Mysteria Escape Room.

  • Selfies or photos with other participants is permitted if puzzles are not in the picture

• This policy protects the experience, puzzles, and intellectual property of Mysteria Escape Room.

• Unauthorized recording or distribution of game content may result in removal from the experience without refund.

 

Age, Pricing & Adult Supervision Policy

• All ages are welcome to play at Mysteria Escape Room.

• Younger children should participate only with a responsible adult to ensure safety and enjoyment.

 

Pricing & Participation

• Ages 6 and under: May participate free of charge when accompanied by an adult or family group; children are included in the total participant count.

• Ages 7–17: A ticket is required.

• Ages 15 and under: Must be accompanied by a participating adult at all times. One adult may supervise multiple minors. One supervising adult may play free of charge.

• Ages 16–17: Must have a parent, legal guardian, or chaperoning adult on-site or nearby, available by phone if needed. The adult does not need to participate but must remain in downtown Placerville or the Mysteria Escape Room lobby during the experience.

 

Kids-Only Group Events

• Group bookings for children only are permitted for ages 10 and older.

• For groups with children ages 10–15, a supervising adult (18+) must be present in the room at all times.

• For groups with children ages 16–17, a supervising adult (18+) is not required to be in the room but must remain on the premises or downtown and reachable by phone.  Supervising adult assumes full responsibility for participant conduct and any damages.

 

Supervising Adult Responsibility

• Any adult accompanying minors under 18 assumes full responsibility for:

  • The conduct of minors

  • Any damage to props, furnishings, or equipment caused by minors

• Mysteria Escape Room staff and game hosts are not responsible for supervising minors in common areas or during gameplay.

 

Adult Supervision on Premises

• Adults accompanying minors are responsible for supervision at all times while on Mysteria Escape Room premises as well as in the building of 419 Main St, including:

  • Lobby

  • Hallways

  • Waiting areas

  • Restrooms

 

Force Majeure / Unforeseen Events

Mysteria Escape Room is not responsible for cancellations, interruptions, or delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:

• Power outages

• Severe weather

• Natural disasters

• Government orders

• Facility emergencies

 

In such cases, Mysteria Escape Room reserves the right to reschedule experiences or issue alternative accommodations at its discretion. Refunds are not guaranteed under force majeure conditions.

Right to Refuse Service

 

• Mysteria Escape Room reserves the right to refuse entry, discontinue a session, or remove any participant if safety, supervision, or conduct standards are not met. No refunds will be issued in these cases.

 

• All pricing, policies, and guidelines are subject to change without notice. Guests are encouraged to review current Terms & Conditions prior to booking.

 

Changes to Terms

 

• Mysteria Escape Room may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updates will be posted on this page and take effect immediately upon posting.
